HS teachers - as a push for collaborative teaching HS students - should we make this more specific - like junior English research project and focus on developing the inquiry skills students will need in college HS or even district Admin - a proposal to adopt a school or district wide inquiry model
All of these audience ideas are helpful, and I can think of several reasons to select any of these choices. I'm somewhat inclined to thinking about an Admin audience, because I can imagine advocating for a school or district-wide inquiry model as a school librarian, and it would be nice to prepare for this. However, we will be working with teachers and students, as well, so it all makes sense. Would you maybe like to select HS English students, as you could apply this presentation to your current work? You could also select an actual project your students do in your class so that you can (if you wish) use it in your classroom. I am quite flexible, so if you have a preference, let me know, and that will be our audience!
I would love to create something I can use later this year, especially if we go with the Stripling model. Looking at the models we had before, I didn't find them student friendly, so I added the teachers/admin possibilities. I'm not married to any idea yet, so I'm fine with the admin audience, too. I just want whatever we do to be mutually beneficial. :)
Audience Selected for this project:
HS students
Topic:
Stripling Model of Inquiry
Possible Presentation Tools:
Dr. M has included a lot of information on infographics - I love them! I have usedPiktochartseveral times and find it very easy to use. Emaze
I was actually going to suggest an infographic, as well. I have just started to dabble in these, and I would love to become more proficient with them. I have only used Visme on one occasion and found it easy to use, as well.
Also, in Dr. M.'s mid-week announcement, she said, "Please consider the best tool(s) to share your information with the audience you have selected. Stretch yourself. Go beyond what you know. Use multiple tools for increased impact". For example, in our infographic, we could link to a Popplet or other mind-mapping tool to introduce the inquiry steps. I'm sure you have a lot of great ideas with your tech background!
